Abstract Note

The First Nations opposed the British Colombia government's decision to clear-cut the forests on their land. In 1993, courts mandated that the government must consult with the First Nations when making a decision regarding logging. The First Nations are now faced with the desire to preserve the natural environment while still wanting to create jobs for their community.
