The election of a liberal, creole president and an indigenous intellectual vice-president in Bolivia has show that integration and communication with indigenous communities is a viable political strategy in Bolivia. However, this came after decades of deconstructing indigenous political organizations. Today, many indigenous communities are trying to rebuild these organizations and avoid being manipulated by the status quo.
